Elliot Anderson Highlights Positives from Forest’s 2-2 Draw with Real Betis
Elliot Anderson believes Nottingham Forest can take several positives from their 2-2 draw with Real Betis in the Europa League.
The Reds fought back impressively in Seville, having gone behind early on. Igor Jesus scored twice to put Forest ahead by halftime, but Betis equalised late in the game, with Antony finding the net just four minutes from time.
Despite missing out on the win, the result marks a strong return to European competition for Forest, and Anderson says the team can hold their heads high after their performance against a strong Spanish side.
“It’s disappointing not to come away with all three points, but there are plenty of encouraging signs,” said Anderson. “Getting a point away from home, especially in Europe, is still a good result.
“Not many teams will come here and play the way we did. The key now is learning how to manage games better.
“We dominated the first half and created lots of opportunities – it was enjoyable to be part of. We just need to be more clinical and finish those chances to put games to bed.”
Anderson also expressed his excitement about playing in Europe with the club once again.
“It felt great to be back on the European stage – now it’s about building momentum.
“We’ve got another big Premier League match in just three days, so recovery is crucial now. We have to regroup and go again.”
Reflecting on recent performances, Anderson added: “With better game management, we could easily have three wins under our belt. We’ll keep working hard in training and focus on turning these draws into victories.”
