When asked if Martin can still turn things around, McCoist was honest about the uphill battle:
“It’s going to be very difficult. Very, very difficult. His only hope is to string together a winning run. Even after the team scored the winner at the weekend, you could still hear the boos from the crowd.
“It’s tough — I’ve been there when things aren’t going well, and I can tell you it’s incredibly tough.
“Nothing would make me happier than seeing us go on a run of 12 or 13 victories and suddenly everything feels better. But right now, it’s a massive challenge.”
