Nuno Must Drop Misfiring Striker to Find Success

However, there’s one glaring issue that still needs urgent attention — the striker position.
While Nicolas Füllkrug brings professionalism, work ethic, and a strong personality to the dressing room, those qualities alone don’t make up for his lack of suitability to the Premier League.
The German forward is too slow, too predictable, and, frankly, too far past his peak to lead the line for a club with West Ham’s ambitions.
Every time he features, it becomes increasingly difficult to understand why someone else isn’t starting up front.
Even a player like Callum Wilson — who may lack raw pace — at least has the intelligent movement that a modern striker needs.
And if experience isn’t delivering, why not turn to youth? Callum Marshall, who made his Premier League debut against Arsenal, might offer more dynamism and energy.
Nuno has already shown he’s not afraid to make tough decisions, as seen with James Ward-Prowse being benched.
If he wants to push this team forward, he’ll need to be just as decisive with Füllkrug — and the sooner, the better.
