Muscat, should he take the helm, will no doubt have targets in mind to bolster the side — but such reinforcements could come at the cost of selling a key player.

Raskin remains one of Rangers’ most valuable assets, and any January departure would likely anger fans. The 24-year-old Belgian international has been among the standout performers in Scottish football this season. With around 18 months left on his contract, a move could easily be postponed until next summer.

Raskin Could Be Key to Muscat’s Success

A reported fallout with Russell Martin may have influenced Raskin’s recent dip in club form, though his performances for Belgium have continued to impress.

Despite enduring one of their most challenging periods in recent memory, Rangers remain within reach of the Premiership title race — and keeping Raskin could be vital to maintaining that hope.

Muscat’s high-intensity, attacking philosophy may be exactly what the midfielder needs to rediscover his best form at Ibrox. For that reason, the Australian coach would be wise to retain Raskin until at least the end of the 2025–26 season.

Although uncertainty continues to swirl around the club, fans will be hoping that the American ownership recognizes the importance of keeping Raskin beyond the winter window — a decision that could prove crucial to Rangers’ revival.
