    “Yes, his position will be questioned,” Murphy admitted when asked about Farke’s job security. “But in the last couple of games, the performances have been good. The players are fighting for him. They’ve been in a lot of close matches. They’ve dropped four or five points after the 90th minute.

    “If the fans can be more patient and give him more time, this team will improve. They’ve got difficult fixtures coming, but they can take real confidence from that second-half display.”

    Farke’s future has been the subject of increasing debate over recent weeks as Leeds continue to struggle with the demands of Premier League football.

    The club began the campaign well, recording wins over Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham. But following that West Ham victory, they have failed to pick up a single point in their last four games.

    After the defeat to City, Farke praised his players’ commitment and expressed belief that results will soon turn in their favour.

    “We didn’t reach the Premier League in a lottery. We fully deserve to be in this league,” Farke said. “Apart from Arsenal away, our matches have been tight, and in many games we’ve been the better team. I am 100% convinced we have enough to get the points we need.
