Crystal Palace are understood to be weighing up Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior as one of three possible successors should they fail to secure Oliver Glasner on a new contract, according to GIVEMESPORT.
The Eagles have made significant strides since appointing Glasner, with the Austrian guiding the club to two trophies and ending a long wait for silverware.
His impact has also seen Palace qualify for the Europa Conference League this season, further underlining the progress made under his leadership.
Such success has inevitably attracted attention from elsewhere, prompting Palace to push for a new deal in an effort to keep Glasner at Selhurst Park.
Rosenior on Palace’s radar
GIVEMESPORT sources say Rosenior is among the candidates being considered if talks with Glasner do not lead to an agreement, alongside Rayo Vallecano’s Inigo Perez and Getafe manager Jose Bordalas.
The Strasbourg boss has been discussed internally and is viewed as a strong fit due to his tactical approach, which closely mirrors Glasner’s system.
However, luring Rosenior away would be far from straightforward. Strasbourg are owned by BlueCo, the same group behind Chelsea, and have previously resisted approaches for the Englishman.
Rosenior has already come out on top against Glasner this season, overseeing a 2-1 victory when Strasbourg faced Palace earlier in the campaign.
Despite the contingency planning, Palace remain keen to retain Glasner. He is regarded as one of the most successful managers in the club’s recent history, making it a priority for the Eagles to extend his stay and ward off outside interest.
Drawing up a shortlist of alternatives is viewed as standard succession planning, ensuring the club are prepared should Glasner ultimately decide to move on.
While Rosenior could represent an exciting and progressive appointment, persuading BlueCo and Strasbourg to part ways with him would be a major challenge.
