Nuno Espirito Santo’s position at West Ham is coming under serious threat following another damaging Premier League defeat.

West Ham now sit five points from safety, and concern is growing among the club’s hierarchy, who are beginning to weigh up a change in the dugout.

Nuno facing real pressure

Nuno, who replaced Graham Potter in September, is now fighting to keep his job just three months into his tenure. While the 51-year-old collected eight points from his opening seven matches, his team has since gone seven games without a win.

According to talkSPORT, the club will seriously consider dismissing the Portuguese coach if results fail to improve in the near future. There is also reported frustration internally over Nuno’s continued decision to play without a recognised striker.

Callum Wilson has been left on the bench in each of the last four matches, with Jarrod Bowen instead being deployed centrally — a move that has raised eyebrows among supporters and club officials alike.

Who could replace Nuno at West Ham?

Should West Ham decide to make another managerial change, their next appointment could be crucial in their battle to avoid relegation.

After already sacking one manager this season, the East London side can ill afford another misstep, with Championship football a genuine threat.

Former boss Slaven Bilic remains unemployed and has previously been linked with a return. His availability — and the lack of compensation required — could make him an appealing option given the financial cost of multiple dismissals.

Frank Lampard has also been mentioned, but a move appears unlikely. The former West Ham academy graduate is currently thriving at Coventry City, who sit eight points clear at the top of the Championship.
