Rangers defender Dujon Sterling was clearly in high spirits following his side’s comeback victory over Celtic and took the opportunity to aim a dig at under-fire Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy.
Sterling reposted Nancy’s now-notorious social media slip, adding to the growing scrutiny surrounding the Frenchman.
Kris Boyd also joined in, sharing an image of a Connect Four board bursting apart — a clear reference to Nancy’s much-mocked tactics board, which was shown during his debut defeat to Hearts while he was still in charge of Columbus Crew.
Celtic’s struggles continued as they were outplayed by their fiercest rivals, who stormed through a dispiriting second half to claim a 3-1 win.
The result compounded Nancy’s woes, leaving him looking visibly shaken at full-time and intensifying the criticism coming his way.
Nancy had already been in the spotlight earlier in the campaign after his confusing Venn diagram graphic ahead of the defeat to Dundee United — something the Tannadice club even referenced in their own post-match post.
Sterling later shared the same image on Instagram after Rangers, who had won just one of their opening seven league games, moved above the champions in the table.
Boyd, meanwhile, wasted no time in delivering his verdict after the final whistle at Celtic Park. Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Rangers striker was brutally honest.
“I said at half-time it was a bang-average performance from a bang-average team,” Boyd said. “They’ve come to Celtic Park and silenced the lion’s den. In the second half they were outstanding.
“If there’s ever been a game of two halves, that was it. Rohl fixed his mistakes at half-time and now looks like he’s got that Rangers team playing for him. The other manager looks like he could be on a flight home tonight.”
Boyd ended with a final tease, adding: “There does seem to be an atmosphere around the place, but if I were Celtic, I wouldn’t be making any rash decisions. Patience is a virtue.”
