Leeds United secured another vital victory as they continue their battle for Premier League survival, though it was far from straightforward against a Fulham side that arrived unbeaten in six matches across all competitions.

Both teams were well aware of the challenge ahead. Prior to kick-off, Marco Silva acknowledged that Leeds are a very different proposition compared to the side Fulham faced at Craven Cottage earlier in the season, when the fixture was settled by a late Gabriel Gudmundsson own goal.

There was also frustration over Silva’s substitutions, with one fan commenting: “Bringing on Josh King was pointless. Against Leeds’ physicality, he was always going to struggle.”

Result underlines need for reinforcements

The performance and result highlighted why the 49ers ownership have been active in the transfer market this week.

Following the arrival of Facundo Buonanotte, reports suggest Leeds are also looking to strengthen their forward line, with Wolves striker Jørgen Strand Larsen emerging as a potential target.

Adding further attacking options at this stage of the season could provide a significant lift. Buonanotte offers creativity and a goal threat, while Strand Larsen is a proven striker who would complement Dominic Calvert-Lewin well.

Notably, the Norwegian has experience operating in a system similar to the one Daniel Farke currently employs at Elland Road.
