Oliver Glasner praised Crystal Palace’s resilience after the Eagles battled back to secure a point against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Palace climbed to 14th in the table thanks to Ismaïla Sarr’s penalty just before halftime, which cancelled out Morgan Gibbs-White’s early opener for Forest at the City Ground.

The hosts had seen Neco Williams sent off for a handball that led to Sarr’s spot-kick, after which Forest adopted a defensive approach in the second half, frustrating Palace’s attempts to find a winner.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Glasner said: “I’m very pleased with our first-half performance, particularly how the team responded after going 1-0 down.

We controlled the game well for the opening 10-15 minutes of the second half, but then we lost our composure.

“I could see the effort from the players, and having learned to respect a point since coming to the Premier League, I know how valuable it is.”

After the break, Palace enjoyed significant possession, but breaking down Forest’s defensive setup proved challenging, with most attempts coming from outside the penalty area.

Despite admitting that the team’s performance dipped at times, Glasner highlighted plenty of positives to carry forward.

“I have mixed feelings,” he added. “Even before scoring, we created two big chances, so credit to the players for an excellent first-half. We deserved the equalizer.

Everyone wanted to take responsibility in the second half, but some decisions were off. I don’t blame anyone — it’s a matter of our psychological state.

“Seeing how we played, especially in the first half, gives me confidence for the remainder of the season. I really value this group because they stay focused and respond to challenges.

“We wanted it so much that we perhaps lost a bit of structure. We created opportunities — three or four excellent crosses — but no one was there to finish them.”
