Norwich City came into the match on the back of an impressive run, having won 10 of their last 13 games across all competitions. However, boss Philippe Clement admitted that Leeds showcased their true quality.
Clement Reflects on Norwich Defeat
Clement was candid about the challenge his young squad faced at Elland Road, noting that many players were competing against top-tier Premier League opposition for the first time. He acknowledged improvement in the second half, with Norwich creating a few promising chances.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Clement said:
“There were ups and downs. For many of the players, it was their first experience at this level. The intensity was difficult to adapt to. In the second half, we played much better and created opportunities.
This is a very young squad—just three months ago, they were battling relegation in the Championship. I’m convinced they will learn and improve from this. It’s part of the journey to reach the level they aspire to.”
Can Leeds Challenge for the FA Cup?
Paul Robinson has urged Leeds to target FA Cup success, even as their Premier League survival fight intensifies. Consecutive league defeats have left Leeds just three points above the relegation zone, making top-flight survival the immediate priority.
Yet, with a favourable draw and a path to the semi-finals, Leeds could realistically mount a serious FA Cup challenge—their first chance at glory since 1972. The key question is whether the players can balance the survival battle with a potential cup run.
Securing Premier League safety early would give Leeds the freedom to fully pursue the FA Cup, offering fans a chance for a memorable finish to the season.
