Murillo has been one of Nottingham Forest’s standout performers this season, proving his value with a dramatic late goal-line clearance during the 2–2 draw against Manchester City earlier this month.
The Brazilian defender preserved a vital point for the Tricky Trees — a result that could prove crucial as Forest remain locked in a tight relegation battle, currently sitting just outside the drop zone on goal difference.
Despite his importance to the team, the 23-year-old’s long-term future at the City Ground is now uncertain. Several Premier League giants are monitoring the centre-back, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs reportedly interested in signing him.
Tottenham are believed to have intensified their pursuit of Murillo, which could force Forest boss Vitor Pereira to look for defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window. As a result, the club has reportedly entered the race to sign Dynamo Kyiv defender Taras Mykhavko.
According to TEAMtalk, Forest view Mykhavko as a strong potential replacement for Murillo, although they are unlikely to have a clear run at the Ukrainian talent.
Several Premier League clubs — including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea — are also said to be tracking the 20-year-old. Interest is not limited to England either, with teams from Spain, Italy and Germany also monitoring the defender.
Mykhavko earned his first senior cap for Ukraine in November and has impressed with Dynamo Kyiv this season.
Described as a “complete” centre-back by scout Jacek Kulig, the young defender has made 29 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals. His defensive quality was evident in Dynamo Kyiv’s most recent Ukrainian Premier League home match, where he won 10 duels — the most of any player on his team — and also recorded six clearances.
Earlier this season, Mykhavko was linked with both Liverpool and Manchester United. Journalist Graeme Bailey has suggested that many scouts now believe the defender is ready to make the step up to English football.
“Mykhavko is a top prospect, and several scouts believe he’s ready for the move now and could easily end up in the Premier League,” Bailey explained.
While Mykhavko could represent an exciting long-term addition for Nottingham Forest, the club’s main priority may still be keeping Murillo, who has been one of the first names on the team sheet throughout the campaign.
