Gabby Agbonlahor predicts Everton vs Chelsea in Premier League showdown

Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Chelsea FC to come out on top against Everton FC in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

David Moyes will host the London side at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, aiming for a response after his team’s recent defeat to Arsenal FC.

Chelsea, however, head into the match off the back of a difficult week themselves, having suffered a loss to Newcastle United before being heavily beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor predicted a strong response from Chelsea, tipping them to secure a convincing 3-1 win on Merseyside.
He pointed to Everton’s struggles at their new home ground as a key concern, noting that they have managed just five wins from 15 league games there so far.
In contrast, Chelsea will look to build on their recent away success, including an impressive 4-1 victory at Villa Park.

European race heating up

A win for Everton would significantly boost their hopes of European football, potentially moving them within two points of Chelsea in sixth place. With seventh place likely enough to secure a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League, the stakes are high.

Brentford FC currently occupy that position and face Leeds United later on Saturday, meaning results elsewhere could also shape the race.
