Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached a full agreement to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town, with the winger expected to undergo a medical today.

The 21-year-old attacker, who made a permanent move to Portman Road from Chelsea last summer following a successful loan spell, was previously the subject of interest from Brentford. They attempted to trigger a £35 million relegation release clause in his contract — a clause that has since expired, giving Ipswich full control over transfer negotiations.

Forest initially saw a £35 million offer rejected by Town, and during this period, Hutchinson was absent from recent matches, missing both the pre-season friendly against Auxerre and the Carabao Cup tie against Bromley. While he was also sidelined for the Championship opener at Birmingham City due to a throat infection, speculation around his future continued to intensify.

According to The Athletic, a deal worth around £37.5 million has now been agreed between the two clubs. Hutchinson is expected to travel to the East Midlands today to complete his medical and put the finishing touches on the transfer.

TalkSPORT reports that the young forward took 24 hours to consider Forest’s proposal before deciding to accept the move. The switch will see him return to Premier League action and feature in the Europa League under Nuno Espírito Santo.

As part of the deal, Chelsea have secured a 25% sell-on clause, which will entitle them to roughly £4 million from the profit made by Ipswich on the sale.
