DONE DEAL: Leeds United Agree Transfer for Everton Target as Medical Underway
Leeds United have sealed an agreement with Leicester City for highly sought-after full-back, a reported Everton target, with the player currently undergoing his medical, according to journalist Mike McGrath.
Leeds United Agree Deal for James Justin Amid Everton Interest
Leeds United have reportedly reached an agreement with Leicester City to sign full-back James Justin, despite interest from Everton. According to journalist Mike McGrath, the player is currently undergoing a medical with the Whites ahead of a £10 million move.
Justin has been tipped for a departure from the King Power Stadium before the transfer window closes on 1st September, with several clubs – including David Moyes’ Everton – showing interest.
However, it appears Leeds have moved decisively to secure the defender’s signature.
The Elland Road club have been long-term admirers of Justin, having tracked him since 2018. Seven years on, they are finally on the verge of bringing him to West Yorkshire.
The 26-year-old has featured in Leicester’s opening two Championship games this season but was left out of the squad for their recent clash with Charlton Athletic, suggesting a move was imminent.
Once the deal is finalized, Leeds will be acquiring a player with proven Premier League experience—Justin has made 99 appearances in the top flight and is just one away from reaching the 100 mark.
That milestone could come as early as next weekend, when Leeds host Newcastle United at Elland Road.
Leeds will be looking to bounce back after a heavy 5-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday. Before their Premier League clash with Newcastle, they face Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup on Tuesday—a match where manager Daniel Farke is expected to rotate his squad.
