‘See you soon’: Nick Pope drops massive hint on social media over new arrival at Newcastle United

Newcastle United Pushing for Triple Swoop as Trafford Deal Edges Closer

Newcastle United are reportedly making moves on three separate transfer fronts as they aim to break the deadlock in their summer recruitment drive.

The Magpies are currently in negotiations with Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Burnley over deals for Anthony Elanga, Joao Pedro, and James Trafford, respectively.

Initial bids for all three players are believed to have been rejected, but talks remain ongoing, with hope that agreements can still be reached.

Among the trio, a deal for Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford appears to be the most advanced. Reports suggest that personal terms have already been agreed, and it’s now just a matter of finalising a fee with Burnley.

Fueling speculation that the transfer is close, current Newcastle keeper Nick Pope left a cheeky comment on Trafford’s recent Instagram reel, saying: “See you soon shagger.”

Many fans have taken this as a hint that Pope expects Trafford to arrive on Tyneside imminently—though it could, of course, be a joke or reference to something unrelated to football.

Trafford’s post featured a clip of his penalty save in the 2023 U21 European Championship final, a moment that left teammate Cole Palmer visibly ecstatic.

The young goalkeeper has earned a reputation for his spot-kick heroics, having saved two penalties in a single game against Sunderland last season.

Newcastle supporters will be hoping the club can get this deal over the line soon, with many believing Trafford has the potential to develop into one of the top goalkeepers in world football.
