Unveiled officially by the club on Wednesday, the former Leicester City legend begins a fresh chapter in his storied career, having brought an end to his 13-season spell at the King Power Stadium this summer.

Cremonese have made an impressive start to life in Serie A, winning their first two matches — including a memorable victory over AC Milan at the San Siro. Unsurprisingly, comparisons have been drawn to Leicester’s fairy-tale Premier League title run. However, Vardy is quick to play down the hype, emphasizing that the club’s main goal — just like Leicester’s under Claudio Ranieri — is survival.
