Sunderland have officially announced the signing of Habib Diarra from RC Strasbourg, in what is believed to be a club-record deal that could rise to approximately £30 million. The 21-year-old Senegal international has penned a five-year contract with the Black Cats, becoming the club’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Enzo Le Fée.
Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman hailed the move as a sign of Sunderland’s ambition as they prepare for their return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.

Sunderland are also closing in on a deal to sign left-back Reinildo Mandava after his recent departure from Atletico Madrid.
