“I know there’s been a lot of talk, but the truth is no one contacted me, and I haven’t spoken to anyone at the club. I really had no contact. River Plate is a top-level club globally and has grown a lot in every aspect,” he said.
West Ham’s willingness to move the 30-year-old on is understandable. Though Rodríguez has shown glimpses of quality, he hasn’t consistently performed at the level expected in the Premier League. Still, it’s fair to say few Hammers players impressed last season, including standout names like Kudus when viewed in isolation.
Rodríguez, a signing from the Julen Lopetegui era, doesn’t appear to fit Potter’s vision moving forward. The club is unlikely to stand in his way, especially if they can bank a full profit from any sale.
