Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris has revealed that he and new signing Noah Sadiki shared several open and honest conversations before the 20-year-old completed his move to the Stadium of Light.
The DR Congo international joins the Black Cats from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in a deal reportedly worth £15 million. He has signed a five-year contract with the newly promoted Premier League club.
Sadiki becomes Sunderland’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Enzo Le Fée and Habib Diarra from Strasbourg. The trio adds quality and depth to a squad preparing for its first top-flight campaign since winning the Championship play-off final last season.
Le Bris spoke highly of Sadiki’s attributes, praising his maturity and technical ability.
“What stood out immediately was his composure on the ball, his ability to manage rhythm, and the maturity in his decision-making,” the Sunderland boss said. “He’s a player who can make a difference for Sunderland.”
Le Bris also highlighted the youngster’s versatility: “That level of experience at such a young age is rare. He can play as a holding midfielder, in a double pivot, or even in more advanced roles.”
With their return to the Premier League on the horizon, Sunderland fans have reason to be optimistic as the club continues to strengthen its squad with promising talent.
