Wolves Yet to Make Major Moves as Pre-Season Begins – Ivanovic Pursuit Under Threat

Wolverhampton Wanderers will begin their pre-season preparations at Compton Park tomorrow, but so far, only one new face has arrived at the club this summer.

Spanish midfielder Fer Lopez remains the sole addition to Vitor Pereira’s squad, following a £20 million move. With pre-season now kicking off, fans are growing restless, urging the club to ramp up their activity in the transfer market.

While some squad members are due to join up with the rest of the team during the club’s trip to the Algarve, there’s a clear sense that Wanderers are already behind in terms of recruitment. Ideally, several new arrivals would have been secured by now, particularly in attack.

Wolves Eye New Striker Amid Links to El Bilal Toure and Ivanovic

A new striker remains high on the club’s priority list. Wolves have recently been linked with Almeria forward El Bilal Toure, but another target may now be slipping away.

Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic has been on the club’s radar, but journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that Serie B side Parma have now made an approach for the 20-year-old, potentially beating Wolves to the punch.

Wolves are in need of back-up for Jorgen Strand Larsen, who enjoyed an impressive debut Premier League campaign last season with 14 goals – the best return for a Wolves player in their first top-flight season. With Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia already gone, and doubts surrounding Goncalo Guedes and Hwang Hee-chan, attacking options are looking increasingly thin.

Time for Wolves to Act

Ivanovic, who netted 14 times in 49 appearances for Millwall last season, is seen as a player with serious potential. But if Wolves want to land him, they may need to act quickly to avoid losing out to Parma.

More broadly, there’s growing urgency for Wolves to make progress in the market. Last year, Strand Larsen benefited hugely from having a full pre-season with the squad before the campaign began, and the same could prove crucial for any incoming signings this summer.

With the first day of pre-season just around the corner, it’s vital that Wolves start bringing in reinforcements to give them the best possible start to the new season.
