“Fabrizio Romano: Ipswich Town Plot SHOCK Move to Hijack Spanish Wonderkid Deal!”

Ipswich Town Set Sights on Promotion as Transfer Plans Intensify

Ipswich Town are widely expected to be among the Championship’s top contenders this season, with a return to the Premier League considered the club’s baseline goal.

Manager Kieran McKenna has been proactive in strengthening the squad during the summer transfer window, aiming to build a side capable of securing automatic promotion.

One key move on the horizon is the potential signing of Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough, as the club continues to target top-tier talent for their push to the Premier League.

However, the squad has also seen some notable departures. Most significantly, Liam Delap completed a £30 million transfer to Chelsea, while Nathan Broadhead is reportedly on the verge of joining Wrexham.

Despite these exits, Ipswich may be lining up an exciting addition. Reports suggest the club is attempting to hijack a proposed move for Spanish striker Ivan Azón.

Ipswich Town Make a Move for Ivan Azón

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ipswich have made an approach for Ivan Azón, who joined Italian side Como in February 2025. The 22-year-old was expected to go on loan to La Liga side Valencia for the upcoming season, but Ipswich are now trying to redirect the striker to Portman Road.

The bid to land Azón reflects Ipswich’s intention to bolster their attacking options ahead of their Championship opener against Birmingham City on August 8.

Who is Ivan Azón?

Azón signed with Como earlier this year from Zaragoza but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. Nonetheless, he brings solid experience from the Spanish Segunda División, where he scored 27 goals in 149 appearances over five seasons.

While a loan move to Valencia would have provided top-flight exposure, Como manager Cesc Fàbregas may view a stint in the Championship under McKenna as a better development opportunity for the young forward.

Should the deal go through, Ipswich fans can look forward to a talented addition with a proven eye for goal—potentially helping to fill the void left by Delap’s departure.
