Jack Grealish was the standout performer as Everton cruised to a 2-0 win over Brighton on Sunday, marking their first Premier League match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in style.

David Moyes’ men bounced back impressively from their opening-day defeat to newly-promoted Leeds United, putting in a confident display in front of a home crowd on 24 August.

The Toffees had an early scare when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was penalised for a handball in the box, but goalkeeper Jordan Pickford came to the rescue, saving Danny Welbeck’s spot-kick to keep the score level.

A Career Revival in the Making?

After struggling to find form and freedom under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Grealish looks rejuvenated at Everton.

The loan move appears to be the perfect opportunity for the winger to reignite his career and push for a return to the England squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

Grealish hasn’t featured for the Three Lions since a match against Finland in October 2024 and has missed the last six squad selections.

Despite this, he remains a popular figure among England’s players, as evident from the support shown by Rice and Rogers.

If he continues to produce the level of performance seen against Brighton, not only will Gareth Southgate take notice, but other clubs could also come calling.

Everton do hold a £50 million option to buy at the end of his loan, but strong interest from elsewhere could make it a challenge to keep him on Merseyside.

For now, though, Grealish looks right at home in blue—and Everton fans will be hoping this is just the beginning.
