Following a disappointing opening day defeat to Leeds United, Moyes’ side bounced back impressively with a win over Brighton in their first home fixture at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

When questioned about facing a winless Wolves side, Moyes made his stance clear.

Moyes Pushes Back on Negative Wolves Narrative

A reporter suggested that Wolves’ rough start might make the match easier for Everton, a notion Moyes was quick to dismiss.

“You’re making it sound like Wolves aren’t a good side,” he replied. “I completely disagree with that.”

Moyes went on to praise Wolves and their manager Vitor Pereira, emphasizing that early results don’t reflect the true quality of the team.

“I think Wolves have a very good side. The manager is doing a great job, and they’re clearly developing as a team,” he added. “They’ve got some very good players. We know it’ll be a tough game, and we’ll have to play very well if we want to get something from it.”

His comments were a welcome change from the growing panic around Wolves’ slow start.

Everton’s Revamped Attack Demands Attention

This is not the Everton of old. While their defensive resilience remains, the team’s approach in attack has evolved significantly.

New signings Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have added much-needed creativity and technical flair, while Iliman Ndiaye brings pace and unpredictability out wide. It’s a far cry from the more physical, one-dimensional attack Everton relied on last season.
