Everton Reach ‘Full Agreement’ for Deadline-Busting Midfielder Deal

Everton Finalise Deal to Sign Freiburg Midfielder Merlin Rohl

Everton have reportedly reached a full agreement with Bundesliga side Freiburg to sign midfielder Merlin Rohl, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Toffees have been eager to strengthen their midfield options under David Moyes this summer and have already secured Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Charly Alcaraz on permanent transfers.

Now, the Merseyside club has successfully negotiated a deal with Freiburg to bring Rohl in on an initial loan, which includes a mandatory purchase clause set for next year.

Plettenberg describes the move as a “done deal“, with the obligation to buy reportedly set at €25 million (£21.6 million).

Rohl is currently undergoing his medical examination and is expected to travel to Merseyside shortly to sign his contract.

Once finalized, he’ll join a competitive midfield unit that includes James Garner, Idrissa Gueye, Tim Iroegbunam, and the newly signed Dewsbury-Hall and Alcaraz.

This move marks Everton’s eighth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Adam Aznou, Mark Travers, Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish, and Tyler Dibling at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
