Slaven Bilic Being Considered for Surprise West Ham Return to Replace Under-Fire Graham Potter

Slaven Bilic has emerged as a surprise frontrunner to return to West Ham United, with current manager Graham Potter under increasing pressure after a disappointing start to the season, according to GIVEMESPORT’s Ben Jacobs.

The Hammers have struggled under Potter, losing three of their first four Premier League matches and suffering an early Carabao Cup exit in the second round. The poor form has led to growing frustration among fans and speculation over Potter’s future.

Club owner David Sullivan is reportedly already weighing up options should a managerial change be necessary—and Bilic is high on the list.

The Croatian previously managed West Ham from 2015 to 2017 and maintains a strong relationship with the club’s ownership, which could work in his favor.

As reported by talkSPORT, Bilic is being considered as a potential replacement after West Ham’s recent 3-0 defeat to rivals Tottenham Hotspur intensified the scrutiny on Potter.

While no final decision has been made, another poor result—particularly in the upcoming clash with Crystal Palace—could accelerate the search for a new head coach.

Ben Jacobs notes that Bilic is Sullivan’s preferred option if a change is made, although he’s not the only candidate being considered.

Former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche and ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo—both currently free agents—are also under discussion.

Their recent Premier League experience and availability make them viable alternatives.

Bilic has been out of work since leaving Saudi club Al Fateh in 2024, following a previous short stint at Watford in the Championship.
