After the final whistle, Coventry manager Frank Lampard shared his thoughts on the performance. While pleased with the defensive resilience, he admitted his side lacked the attacking sharpness that had defined their season so far.
“We’ve been really strong in front of goal recently, but today we were missing a bit of that quality and sharpness,” Lampard told club media. “Leicester played well – probably the best I’ve seen them this season. They have quality players, and they knew they were up against a good side.”
Lampard acknowledged his team’s solid start to the game but noted a shift in momentum towards the end of the first half. “The second half was more open. If you’re not quite at your best going forward, then you have to make sure you defend as a team – and we did that.”
He also praised the team’s control in the final stages. “In the last 10 minutes, we had a lot of the ball and felt quite secure, as secure as you can be at 0-0. There’s a lot to be pleased with.”
While Coventry couldn’t add to their impressive goal tally, their defensive organisation and Rushworth’s standout display ensured they came away with a hard-earned point.
