Leeds United were unfortunate earlier today as they came away empty-handed from their match against Tottenham at Elland Road. Despite dominating much of the game, the home side suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Daniel Farke’s team controlled the match and created plenty of scoring opportunities, but Tottenham made the most of their chances to secure all three points.

Tottenham’s manager, Thomas Frank, attempted to put a positive spin on the result, claiming his team controlled the game. However, it was evident to most that the visitors barely managed to hold on to their lead by the final whistle.

Leeds deserved at least a point but will likely have to blame themselves for not converting the chances they had.

Peter Crouch believes Dominic Calvert-Lewin was a key factor in Leeds losing the game. While Crouch praised the striker’s ability to create opportunities and link up with teammates, he pointed out that Calvert-Lewin missed some crucial chances that he should have finished, which ultimately contributed to the home side’s defeat.

“I see Calvert-Lewin as someone who really excels at involving others and setting up plays,” Crouch said on TNT Sports. “He gets into excellent scoring positions, but today, there were chances he had to take and finish. Unfortunately, missing those opportunities likely cost Leeds the game.

Still, he’s a constant threat to defenders, and I’m confident the goals will come.”

Calvert-Lewin has shown promise playing as Leeds’ number 9 this season but has only scored once and missed several key chances in recent matches.

Former Premier League winner Joe Hart remains optimistic about Calvert-Lewin’s future at Leeds.

He believes the striker is well-suited to the club and, if he stays fit, will find the back of the net more regularly. Hart also highlighted the importance of support from the Elland Road fans for Calvert-Lewin’s success.

“I was curious to see where he would land, and I think Leeds is a perfect fit for him,” Hart said. “If he can stay healthy, he will score goals. With the fans behind him, he’s going to thrive here once he starts converting those chances.”
