Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk, Manning acknowledged the mounting pressure surrounding his position, saying, “It’s just the reality of where the football industry is right now, unfortunately.”
Reflecting on recent challenges, he said, “When you consider how last season ended, the changes over the summer, and where we currently stand, there’s a huge amount of work ahead. I’m fully aware of that.”
“Of course, I would have loved to come in and hit the ground running — play attractive football, win matches, and quickly build a strong connection with the supporters. But that simply hasn’t happened.”

Manning went on to say: “The only thing I can do is keep my head down and continue to work hard.”
“We’ve brought in a lot of talented players, but now we’re in the stage of trying to mould them into a cohesive team. That process takes time — but while you’re doing it, you still need to win matches, and that’s where we’ve fallen short.”
“To keep the supporters with us, we need to find ways to grind out results — and we haven’t done that well enough so far.”
“If we start winning, we can rebuild that relationship with the fans. I experienced that at the start of my time at Bristol City.”
“The fans have every right to be frustrated — we have to own that. But the only way to turn it around is by delivering results, and that’s exactly where my focus is.”
