“Breaking”- Daniel Farke is surely in grave danger at Leeds United after 49ers summer excuse revealed

Leeds United supporters are questioning why the 49ers have yet to take action against Daniel Farke following Sunday’s crushing 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest — a result that easily could have been even worse.

Up until that match, many fans still showed sympathy for Farke, believing he had been let down by the club’s recruitment team and handed an inadequate squad to compete in the Premier League. But that patience is now wearing thin.

Several summer signings have failed to impress — Jaka Bijol has struggled to make an impact, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored just once in 10 outings. Still, it was Farke’s tactical choices on Sunday that truly angered supporters.

He controversially left Willy Gnonto on the bench, persisted with Brenden Aaronson, and delayed making substitutions until the 74th minute — when the game was already lost.

With the November international break providing a rare window for a managerial reset, many fans viewed it as the perfect time for a change.

However, LeedsUnited.News understands that Farke’s position is not under immediate threat, with the board expected to give him until January to turn things around.

That decision could prove costly, especially in light of former Leeds striker Ross McCormack’s recent revelation.

McCormack claimed that Farke only kept his job after winning promotion because the club’s hierarchy feared fan backlash.

“There was talk over the summer that the 49ers were going to sack Daniel Farke,” McCormack said. “Apparently, they decided against it because of the negative reaction they were getting from the fans.”

If that’s true, it raises a major question: if Paraag Marathe spared Farke due to public opinion in the summer, why is he ignoring it now — when the majority of fans clearly want him gone?

Leeds’ biggest strength in the relegation fight remains their Elland Road crowd. The club’s home form — eight points from five games — has been far stronger than their away record of just three points from six.

But frustration is growing, especially among travelling supporters, who made their anger towards Farke known after Sunday’s loss.

While the atmosphere hasn’t turned fully toxic, it’s heading in that direction. Marathe must act carefully to avoid repeating the mistakes of 2023, when former owner Andrea Radrizzani admitted it was an error to keep Jesse Marsch too long.

If keeping the fans onside means dismissing Farke, Marathe may have little choice. Elland Road’s passionate support is Leeds’ greatest weapon in their fight for survival — and losing it could prove disastrous.

For now, it appears Marathe is willing to gamble on Farke. But unless the manager delivers a win soon, the 49ers may have missed their best opportunity to make a crucial change.
