“0% Ranger flop surely set for January exit after what he did at int’l duty

Nedim Bajrami endured a night to forget in Albania’s 2–0 defeat to England on Sunday.

The midfielder moved to Rangers from Sassuolo in August 2024 and featured 44 times last season under Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson.

However, this campaign has been a completely different story. His minutes have dried up, and his future at Ibrox now appears increasingly uncertain.

Bajrami has already been linked with a possible exit in the January transfer window as Rangers continue their major rebuild under Danny Rohl.

Against England, the Albania international looked completely drained of confidence as Harry Kane’s late double sealed a straightforward win for Gareth Southgate’s side.

Having yet to make an appearance under Rohl, this disappointing performance will certainly not help his chances of earning a place in the squad.

Bajrami struggles badly in England defeat

Playing on the right wing, Bajrami struggled to influence the game in any positive way. He was substituted in the 75th minute for Burnley’s Armando Broja after failing to register a successful dribble and losing all five of his ground duels.

It is clear the 26-year-old is frustrated with his lack of opportunities at Rangers, and it now seems more likely than ever that he will leave in January.

This sharp decline is a far cry from last season, when he was considered a useful squad option—posting an 82.5% pass accuracy and creating 26 chances in 28 Premiership appearances.

He even scored a stunning goal against Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup on 16 August, but hasn’t started a single match for Rangers since.

The arrival of several new attacking players over the summer has pushed Bajrami further down the pecking order.

Rangers must move Bajrami on as Rohl trims his squad

Despite having moments of quality last season, Bajrami contributed just three goals or assists in the league, and his form hasn’t lived up to the flashes he once showed with Sassuolo in Serie A following his £3.4m transfer.

With Mikey Moore, Djeidi Gassama, and Oliver Antman all joining the club, Bajrami has found himself with no realistic chance of winning over Rohl.

As Rangers look to reduce their squad size, the Albanian midfielder appears to be one of the most likely players to depart.
