‘Is there anybody?- Daniel Farke Leeds United sack verdict given with brutal transfer question
Gordon Strachan defends Daniel Farke amid Leeds’ struggles
Leeds United legend Gordon Strachan has weighed in on the club’s recent struggles, suggesting that the problems may run deeper than calls for Daniel Farke to be replaced as head coach.
The Whites have been under pressure in the Premier League, with the relegation battle intensifying at the bottom of the table. Leeds have managed just one win in their last five league matches, most recently suffering a damaging 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest.
The team’s difficulties, particularly in away fixtures, have sparked frustration among fans, leading some to question whether Farke remains the right man for the job.
However, Strachan believes that the manager is doing everything he can with the players available. Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, he said:
“Is he under pressure? No. Would he like to be doing better at Leeds? Yes. But do we have the players who can perform better than they’re currently doing? That’s the question you have to ask yourself. And I’d say probably not.”
Strachan added: “I think Daniel Farke is doing as well as he can with the squad he’s got.
A good measure of your players is if you put them on the transfer market, how many clubs would be interested? Is anyone lining up to buy Leeds players in the upcoming window?
“That’s not to say they aren’t good players. But the quality of your squad ultimately depends on how many top-level and exceptional players you have.”
