“No Excuses”- Danny Rohl furiously react to one Rangers star after reckless Error against Brager
Danny Rohl has insisted there are “no excuses” for Nasser Djiga’s mistake against Braga, even though he admitted the windy conditions influenced the incident.
The centre-back failed to deal with a long high ball into the Rangers penalty area, inadvertently flicking it toward the back post. The touch fell to Gabri Martinez, who converted to level the score for the Portuguese side.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Rohl reflected on the key moment:
“Yes, there was one decisive situation,” he said. “It came from the throw-in. We won’t blame anything, but in the second half the wind made things very challenging.”
Despite the setback, Rohl was positive about the team’s performance and overall progress.
“There are no doubts for me today about how we’re developing,” he added. “This draw is a step in the right direction. Tonight, in Europe, we proved we can compete.
“Of course, winning would have been better and taking three points is always the goal, but the foundation is crucial. We came into this after a run of European defeats, and today we showed we can get something from these matches.”
Rangers earned a €150,000 financial reward for securing the point. They now turn their attention back to domestic football, hosting Falkirk at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this weekend, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.
