Everton given even more reason to sign player Victor Osimhen lauds as ‘exceptional’

Everton would be wise to take note of the praise coming from Galatasaray and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the January transfer window.

David Moyes is eager to strengthen his squad during the winter window as the Toffees look to add depth and quality at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With several players potentially heading for the exit — including Adam Aznou, who has been linked with a move to Getafe — reinforcements could soon follow.

Victor Osimhen backs Ryan Alebiosu move

Everton are reportedly among the clubs monitoring Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu.

The former Arsenal man has caught the attention of the Toffees, who are keeping close tabs on him while he represents Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen has spoken highly of the 24-year-old, praising his performances and attitude during international duty. Speaking to ESPN on January 1, the Galatasaray striker said:

“He has been doing amazingly well even before he joined the Super Eagles. From what I’ve seen in training, he’s an exceptional player.”

With Everton short of reliable options at right-back, Alebiosu could represent a smart addition.

Jake O’Brien has often been deployed out of position, while ongoing fitness concerns surrounding Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson have left the squad stretched.

Moyes open to exits as Alebiosu links grow

Patterson, in particular, could be allowed to leave in the coming weeks. The Scotland international has struggled to establish himself since returning from a lengthy injury layoff, and a departure may suit all parties.

Should Patterson move on, it would likely clear the path for Everton to step up their interest in Alebiosu.

While the 24-year-old delivered a solid display in the 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest, he could soon find himself surplus to requirements once again.
