Saturday presented Leeds United with another chance to add valuable points after the heartbreak of their previous outing against Newcastle United.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva was candid in his post-match assessment, conceding that his team fell well short of their usual standards.
“We knew it was going to be tough, the demands here at Elland Road are huge,” Silva said. “In the second half, we didn’t perform at our level at all.
“We conceded late, but they had chances before that. We didn’t create one chance in the second half.”
The statistics backed up his comments, with Leeds registering five big chances while Fulham failed to fashion a single clear opportunity.
Despite their profligacy in front of goal, the performance was a major boost to Leeds’ survival prospects. Against a compact Fulham side, they showed control, intensity and creativity, underlining the potential within the squad.
Their recent display at St James’ Park, where they scored three times away from home, further highlights their attacking capability.
Farke has repeatedly stressed since the start of the season that his side need a slice of luck to turn performances into results.
That fortune now appears to be arriving, and Leeds will hope it continues through to the season’s conclusion.
Goals remain a concern, however, which may explain why the 49ers are reportedly targeting Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen to bolster their attacking options.
