Aston Villa launch last-ditch £69m offer to sign “amazing” Barcelona star for Emery
Aston Villa Make Big-Money Move for Barcelona Forward Ahead of Deadline
Aston Villa have reportedly made a significant offer to sign Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his squad before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Emery Lauds Villa’s “Fantastic” Team Spirit
It’s a crucial weekend for Aston Villa, who aim to close the gap on Arsenal to just four points following the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Leeds United.

A win against Brentford would cap off a successful week for Emery’s side, which also saw them overcome Red Bull Salzburg in midweek.
Emery has been full of praise for his players in recent press conferences, stating:
“How we reacted against Fenerbahçe, Newcastle, and even yesterday when we were down 2-0—different competitions, different players—it was really fantastic, especially with the young players. Individual attitude is essential to complement our collective structure.
Yesterday, at Villa Park, our players and supporters combined to turn the result around, transmitting energy and determination—it was truly remarkable.

“Collective emotions inside the squad and the club are vital, but connecting emotionally with our supporters is even more important. That’s the philosophy we follow. Of course, we focus on our style and tactical structure, while ensuring each player feels confident and can perform at their best. Without shared emotion, something is always missing.”

Transfer Market Activity: Torres in Villa’s Sights
Aston Villa could still add to their squad before the January window closes. Luiz Henrique has already been linked with a move to the Midlands, and now Villa reportedly have their eyes on Barcelona forward Ferran Torres.
According to Spanish reports, Villa have tabled an €80m (£69m) bid for Torres, following Ollie Watkins’ unfortunate injury. However, Barcelona appear unwilling to part with their forward, rejecting the Midlands side’s offer.

Torres remains a valued asset at the Camp Nou despite not always being in the spotlight, having scored 15 goals across all competitions this season.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick previously described him as “amazing,” and at 25, Torres continues to be a player to watch.
