Norwich City fans can’t stop talking about one thing after big Oxford win

Norwich City kept their stunning momentum going on Tuesday night with a commanding 3-0 win over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium, a result that lifted Philippe Clement’s side up to 16th in the Championship and to within eight points of the play-off places.

It has been a turbulent campaign for the Canaries. An awful start to the season left them scrapping for survival, but their recent resurgence has completely changed the picture.

Norwich are climbing the table with confidence and, remarkably, still have a genuine shot at finishing inside the top six.

Mohamed Toure was the star of the show against Oxford, producing a breathtaking hat-trick on what was his first start for the Norfolk club.

The Australian international opened the scoring inside the opening minute, doubled his tally 18 minutes later, and then completed his treble shortly after half-time to cap off a memorable evening.

At present, Norwich look like one of the most dangerous sides in the Championship, and opponents across the division will be wary of facing them in the weeks ahead. For Canaries supporters, the mood could hardly be more positive.

Norwich City lead the Championship form table over the last 10 matches

Since Clement arrived at Carrow Road in November, the transformation has been dramatic. Norwich, who spent the early part of the season battling relegation, have emerged as one of the Championship’s in-form teams.

Their surge has been evident for some time, and following Tuesday’s victory, one supporter highlighted a statistic that will concern the rest of the league.

X user @MortyMark posted: “The Championship form table over the last 10 games. Big Phil is nothing short of a miracle worker…”

The post drew plenty of agreement from fellow fans, with replies such as “Incredible 👏” and “Simply incredible 👏”.

Others also referenced the 10-game form table, with one supporter joking about Liam Manning’s farewell message, while another suggested that “nature is healing” as Norwich sit above Ipswich Town across that period.

A crucial run of fixtures ahead as the play-off push gathers pace

Despite their sensational form, Norwich know they cannot afford any slip-ups after dropping too many points earlier in the season. Every fixture now carries added importance.

The visit of Birmingham City in just over a week looms large, with the Blues also pushing for a play-off spot. Clement will be desperate to prevent a direct rival from gaining ground.

That clash is followed by matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City. With the possibility that Wednesday could already be relegated by the time they travel to Carrow Road, Norwich will see these as opportunities to continue their strong run.

The challenge intensifies towards the end of this five-game spell, with Southampton and Sheffield United providing sterner tests.

However, if the Canaries can collect around 10 points from this sequence, they will be firmly in the conversation to close the gap on the top six.
