He also praised Aaron Wan-Bissaka — whom he described as arguably one of the club’s best performers last season — along with El Hadji Malick Diouf.
Cole ultimately backed West Ham to survive, stating he’s willing to “put his neck on the line” with that prediction.
However, proving him right won’t be straightforward. The Hammers face a daunting run of fixtures against Liverpool F.C., Fulham F.C., Manchester City F.C. and Aston Villa F.C. in their next four league outings.
Staying competitive through that stretch could be crucial before more favourable clashes against Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Crystal Palace F.C., Everton F.C. and Leeds arrive later in the campaign.
That said, further tests against Arsenal F.C., Newcastle United F.C. and Brentford F.C. still await before the season reaches its conclusion.
