“Forget about relegation” — Arsenal legend reminds Tottenham of a dark nightmare worse than going down; fans now in an intense panic after the revelation

Silvestre issues stark warning

Under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs must now show resilience, especially after his tenure began with a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland. While De Zerbi has expressed his willingness to stay even if the club goes down, fans are desperate to see Tottenham retain their top-flight status.

Former Premier League defender Mikael Silvestre has warned that relegation could have serious long-term consequences. He believes Spurs are in real danger of going down and questioned whether the current squad has the mentality required to bounce back.

Silvestre suggested that if Tottenham are relegated, they could face a difficult rebuild, particularly with doubts over whether the current group is suited to the demands of the Championship.

A tough road back if the worst happens

Tottenham have enjoyed a long stay in England’s top division, going nearly 50 years without relegation. The last time they dropped down, in the 1976–77 season, they responded by earning immediate promotion back to the First Division.

However, Silvestre is not convinced history will repeat itself. He pointed out that the Championship demands far more than technical ability—it requires physicality, resilience, and the ability to grind out results.

According to him, Spurs have not shown those qualities this season. As a result, promotion would be far from guaranteed if they were relegated. For now, he insists Tottenham must shift their focus away from style and concentrate purely on fighting for points in the crucial weeks ahead.
